Our Story

Why We Built a Handyman-Only Company in Port St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie isn’t a typical Florida city. Much of it was laid out by one developer decades ago, then filled in with modern concrete-block homes, HOA communities and seasonal homes that sit empty half the year. Generic handyman companies treat all of that the same. We didn’t want to.

The problem we saw

Homeowners were getting templated service: the same fix for a 1970s Section home as for a 2015 build in Tradition. Snowbirds came back to leaks nobody had noticed. Landlords couldn’t see what was actually done. Prices showed up after the work, not before.

And too often, small jobs were quietly “upsold” into bigger ones — or handed to whoever was closest that day.

What we built instead

A handyman-only team that plans each job around how the house was built, documents every visit with photos, and gives you a real number before anything starts.

We stay in our lane on purpose. If part of your project needs a licensed electrician, plumber, roofer or permit, we tell you up front instead of guessing. Here’s how Florida handyman rules work →

The Local Context

Port St. Lucie Homes — What Makes This Market Different

The repair calls we get here follow a pattern you won’t see in most cities. Four kinds of homes make up most of our work — and each one needs a different approach.

🏚️

GDC-Era Sections

Built 1960s–1990s

General Development Corporation’s original numbered Sections. Older wiring, original pipe runs and decades of Florida humidity. Patch-and-modernize, not rip-and-replace.

🧱

Post-2002 CBS Homes

Concrete-block construction

Built to Florida’s post-hurricane code. They age differently — fastening, anchoring and sealing work has to respect the block, not fight it.

🏘️

HOA & CDD Communities

Tradition · PGA Village Verano

Fence height, exterior paint colors and visible fixtures often need approval. We flag likely HOA requirements before we start, not after a violation notice.

✈️

Snowbird & Rental Homes

Empty for months at a time

Small leaks, loose gutters and pest entry points go unnoticed. Pre-departure and pre-return visits with photo reports catch them early.

Hyperlocal Knowledge

Why Handyman Work in Port St. Lucie Is Different

🌀

Hurricane Season

June 1 through November 30, with the highest-risk stretch from mid-August to early October. Shutter tracks, gutters, soffits and seals need attention before — and after — every storm.

💧

Year-Round Humidity

Moisture works into drywall, caulking, grout and door frames. Soft spots near windows, peeling paint and musty closets usually trace back to it.

❄️

Snowbird Season

November through April brings seasonal residents back. Spring pre-departure checks and fall pre-return inspections are the two most valuable visits of the year.

🏗️

Two Building Eras

GDC-era Section homes and post-2002 concrete-block homes fail in different ways. We plan the job around which one we’re standing in.

📋

HOA & CDD Rules

Newer master-planned communities have exterior rules that can turn a simple fence or paint job into a violation notice if nobody checks first.

🌊

Salt Air & Sun

Closer to the coast in Jensen Beach, Stuart and Port Salerno, exterior paint, hardware and fixtures wear faster. Material choice matters.

How We Work

Our 6-Step Process — First Call to Finished Job

Quick phone or text triage — Tell us what’s broken, which room and how urgent. For rentals and second homes, we confirm access details up front.
Inspection & scope confirmation — We look at the actual job, in person or from your photos, and confirm exactly what needs to happen before quoting.
Transparent written estimate — A real number and timeline before any work starts. Any estimate fee is credited toward approved work.
The work itself — Scheduled, on time and done to the scope you approved. No “while we were here” upsells.
Documentation & walkthrough — Photos of the finished work, plus a walkthrough or photo report that matches what you approved.
Follow-up check — For larger jobs and storm repairs, we check back to make sure the fix is holding before we close it out.
